Knitting and reading January 2010.

Been a bit lazy doing the blog, so here are my excuses
1. Knitted a bear to celebrate a baby due in July.
2. Used sari silk wool for a cushion.  Lovely colours.
3. Very proud of my first pair of gloves, did the fingerless ones for a first attempt in wool that knits to a pattern. Soon realised I could not do the fingers watching the television (they looked like cows udders)
4. Read a very interesting book called Stitching for Victory by Suzanne Griffiths. This book offers insight into the experiences of the stitchers of the second world war and the millions who depended on stitch to bring them through.

fabric bracelet January 2010

Happy New Year...no resolution for me this year, that's my resolution.
Thank-you Julie mixedmedia-jem.blogspot.com for the fun I had doing this bracelet, the idea was from her blog and the book Jewellery by Miranda Innes

Cranberry glass oil painting 2009

Finally found the beginnings of the painting of the Cranberry Glasses . I like to take photos of the progress, it helps when I mess up and I can look back and think if only! The unfinished does not look much like the final Merry Christmas painting but I was happy with the changes along the way.
